Top Widgets and Plugins for Wordpress
Blog Design Priorities I have decided that my blog has been neglected for too long. I have been neglecting this blog for a few months now, and haven’t made any new posts, or anything. So I decided to completely revamp the entire site. I had not even implemented adsense or any other form of revenue generation. So I started perusing the Plugins section of the Wordpress site and found some very cool plugins. I’ll give a list of some of my favorites. PlugInstaller First up is pluginstaller. I have to say that I cannot live without this plugin. It is absolutely essential to any real bloggers arsenal. It more or less allows you to install plugins directly from wordpress, even though your blog is not on wordpress. I don’t know how they do it, but I love it. Lighter Menus Next up is lighter menus. This is an awesome, awesome plugin. Basically when I started going plugin crazy, and my menus started to get too crowded. So I searched and found the “lighter menus” plugin which basically converts your admin menu into a dropdown menu. It makes the menu a lot cleaner and easier to manage and find everything. StatPress StatPress is by far one of my favorites. It is almost like having Google Analytics built right into your blog. No need to go wandering to the Google Analytics site. Just check it right there on your blog. General Stats and Wordpress.com Stats are decent, but they really, all three should be combined into one tracking plugin. Maybe if I ever learn PHP, I will get around to putting that into action. Platinum SEO Pack I have always heard of the "All In One SEO Pack", and have even used it in the past, but Platinum SEO Pack just blows that old version away. Basically Platinum SEO Pack has all of the All In One SEO Pack features, but with some additional features added. You can SEO customize your blog with this so much that it seems too good to be true. I can't really explain everything it does here... so just download it and you will see what I am talking about. Backup Wordpress Although, there are more that I found and loved, this will be the last one I list for today. Backup Wordpress is essential to any blog, as it allows not only automated backups, but also allows the backup to be emailed to the email account of your choosing. It provides a solution for a weekly full backup and a daily MySQL backup. With this implemented you should never lose any data from your blog. Notable Mention I really liked cForms II, but had to remove it, because it was causing problems with my theme. :-( Anywho, hope you find these plugins useful. I may add them as a download from my blog as soon as I am finished tweaking it and molding it into a work of art.
