Microsoft OneNote 2007 Review
Microsoft One Note 2007 Reviewed I have been using a program that is part of the Office 2007 suite of applications from Microsoft. It is called One Note 2007. I believe it is by far the best program I have ever seen as far as being able to manage notes and ideas in one central location. Basically the way this program is setup is you have Notebooks, Groups, Sections, Pages, and Sub Pages. As far as the notebooks go, this is how you would separate say work notes from home notes for example. All of these which can be backed up and moved between computers, and even synchronized online if you like. The groups are really section groups. They allow you to arange the sections in one common group, which is similar to the tabs you can put in binders. The section groups would be more like the dividers you see in those 5 subject notebooks you get a Walmart. On each section you can have both pages, and sub pages. This allows you to group even any number of pages within a section under another page. I truly do love this program for all of those features. It allows you to break down and categorize all of your ideas. If you want to take them with you, you can. If you need to access them from another computer over the internet you can. I would be lost without this program. Some other great features are its interoperability with other programs, such as Outlook and Word and Excel. You can send documents or pages or parts of documents or even emails directly to OneNote. This is a great feature. In addition you can also add quick notes which are just quick notes you make via the startup tray icon that go into an uncategorized part of OneNote so you can deal with it later. One feature I really love is the ability to make tables in the One Note program, and also the ability to see where something came from. For example if I copied text from a webpage for later viewing in One Note, it would put a link to that location in One Note at the bottom of my text box where the content was pasted. You can also create multiple text boxes and arrange them simply by dragging and dropping. This is truly a wonderful program, and probably the best that Microsoft has released. If you are a writer or someone who does a lot of research or keeps lots of little notes and lists, then this program is idea for you. I highly recommend this program to anyone. See the external links for Microsoft's downloadable trials. I have provided a link so you can go and download and tryout this wonderful program. |
