Duplicate Content and Rehab Humor Funny Tidbit on Adsense Ads This needed to be posted on Qassia, because I thought it was funny. You need to be very careful what you choose your username to be on this site. I was reading an intel by one user that contained a link to an intel by another user. I clicked on the link and it took me to an intel titled Duplicate Content from the user Internet Junkie. You may think that isn't very funny. It isn't. At least not until you look at the advertisements that Google served up for Adsense. It had all these ads for Marijuana Rehab and other drug related resources. I couldn't figure out why it would serve an ad like that for something about SEO (Search Engine Optimization). Then I caught the user name, Internet Junkie. Apparently since this user had used Junkie in her name, google thought she might need help and provided her with some links to Marijuana Rehab and Morphine Detox. Google, Internet Junkie does not equate to Reefer Junkie. Might want to tweak that algorithm a bit. What is really sad is that only occurs 2 times, and as 2 different links to her profile page on Qassia. Yet Google thought it was the most relavent keyword to serve up ads for. Even though the intel was about SEO. Go figure.
